Appropriately, our final week of regular school (we are still doing exams and playing cricket matches) finished with Prize-giving (our prize winners can be found below) and a beautiful Festival of Lessons & Carols led by our Choir, and, for the last time, Rev. Bosco Peters.
For those of you unable to join us for the festival live-stream, here is the link. Thank you to all involved in these special events. Being in our Chapel, which, in every way, is the heart of our Christ’s College, was wonderful after a year of compromised worship and gathering.
Our Year 10 boys have wrapped up the year with Service Week, helping out the community at various sites, and our Year 9 boys have had great experiences at camp or doing special activities. Both programmes were enabled by our fantastic staff, most of whom engaged alongside our boys.
I know we are all looking forward with confidence to 2022 when we hope things are a touch more ‘normalised’ for the school experience. I am promising nothing, given that the traffic lights are still being tuned for purpose. However, I use the words of my mother-in-law, often quoted within our family, “travel hopefully”, to reflect my approach at this time.
My final thanks to all our community for all that was the year of 2021 and very best wishes for the Christmas and New Year period.
I hope you enjoy this snapshot of College life over the past few weeks.
