IBW Christmas image3

Our final week of school has finished on a high note with Carols on the Quad, Prize-giving at the Town Hall, and our Leavers’ Service in the Chapel and the Leavers Ball.

A significant focal point of all these events has been the opportunity to farewell Deputy Principal Rob Donaldson, who has retired after 35 years of outstanding service to Christ’s College. Rob's contribution has been simply immeasurable.

I would like to thank the boys, our wonderful staff, and our very supportive parents for another excellent year at College.

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. I hope you enjoy the following snapshots of College life, taken over the past few weeks.

Annual Appeal

There's still time to give

Thank you to everyone who has given towards furnishing the Christ’s College Museum. There's still time to give.

Located in the Hare Memorial Library (overlooking the Quad at the heart of College), the Museum will feature contemporary design and facilities, wrapped in a heritage building. The Museum will house and display many of the school’s treasures, including:

– sports gear, drama costumes, and uniforms through the ages
– important historical documents
– photo archives
– a visual timeline
– significant artefacts laden with meaning

Our heritage lives on in every boy who passes through the College gates, but it also deserves to be proudly displayed. If you are in a position to contribute at this time, please help us to preserve our heritage and bring it into the light to benefit generations to come.

Please give now via our Charidy page. Thank you.

          Outdoor Education

Paddle, surf, and hike into the great outdoors

Year 9 students have relished a few days in the great outdoors, undertaking an overnight tramp, planting 600 trees in Tuhaitara Coastal Park, and testing their paddleboarding prowess in Cass Bay and surfing skills at Sumner Beach. Wanting to contribute to the natural environment, the boys have visited the 700ha coastal park, which spans from the Waimakariri River to Waikuku Beach. Junior students have also got to grips with paddleboarding, trying out their skills in the sea and the pool.
