Year 11 students have been ‘finding their pathways’, supported by Old Boys sharing their career journeys, and several businesses and tertiary institutions opening their doors to the boys. A College initiative, the Finding Your Pathway programme inspires students to start to consider their post-school plans.
Inspired by the story of Māui, Year 10 students have made the most of College’s three-day Kōhititia programme, researching, designing, and presenting their concepts based on the Māori mythology. In their final week, they have also been giving back to the community, helping out with bush restoration, conservation, and gardening, and reading to children at a preschool, along with supporting Hōhepa Canterbury, Red Cross, SPCA, Pregnancy Help, and a specialist school for students with ongoing needs.
Year 9 students have been exploring the great outdoors, including hiking Camp Saddle, navigating Cave Stream, camping at Mistletoes Flats and Broken River, and taking to the waves at Cass Bay for paddleboarding, along with learning first aid.
I would like to thank the boys, our wonderful staff, and our very supportive parents for another excellent year at College.
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. I hope you enjoy the following snapshots of College life, taken over the past few weeks.
